Isn't this complicated?
When you receive your card, simply put it in your wallet next to your Kroger Discount Card and/or whatever you use to pay for your groceries. The next time you shop, hand the card to your cashier before (s)he starts ringing up your groceries, and say you'd like to recharge your gift card. The cashier will ask how much you want to put on it, and you'll pay that amount with cash, check, debit or credit card. Then (s)he'll ring up your groceries and you'll hand over the gift card to pay for them. Your receipt will tell you how much money you have left on the card. Once you've done it a few times it will become second nature.
How do I add value to (recharge) the card?
You can recharge your card for ANY amount up to $500.
You pay for the recharge first, then make your grocery purchase. This has to be done in two transactions.
Pay for the recharge with cash, check, debit card, or major credit card.
Cards may be recharged up to $100 at ANY REGISTER and used immediately.
To recharge for more than $100, some stores require cards be recharged at the Customer Service desk, and there is a five-minute delay before the card can be used.
What can I do with a Kroger Gift Card?
Your gift card can be used for anything, including fuel and prescriptions, in Kroger stores with the exception of services. Services include: Money Orders, Western Union, Lottery Tickets, Hunting/Fishing License and Ticket Master. Of course you can give someone a Kroger Gift Card as a present! Be sure to tell them it's a gift that has special meaning, as they will be supporting the Festival each time they recharge it, as well as earning chances to win the drawing for FarmBucks. (If you do purchase a card to be given as a gift, be sure to let us know the recipient's name and contact information - a phone number or email will suffice - so we can enter them in the drawing.)

Is the card only good at Kroger stores?
The card is good in all Kroger Company Stores, so if you have friends and relatives in other states they can purchase cards from us, too! The Kroger Company spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, convenience stores and mall jewelry stores. They operate under nearly two dozen banners, from Kroger in Lexington to King Soopers in Denver. Click here to see all the places you and your friends can use the Kroger Gift Card.
Why should I buy gas at Kroger?
Using your Gift Card to buy gas at Kroger makes sense! Buying gas with your card takes you closer to the $500 level and a better chance to win the drawing for FarmBucks!
What happens if I don't recharge it?
Your grocery shopping will not earn any donations to Francisco's Farm, and we will be sad. Please recharge your card and use it for all your purchases to keep the donations flowing to Francisco’s Farm. Always keep at least a dollar on your card. A card with a zero balance for a period of 90 days will be taken out of the system. A new card will have to be purchased from Francisco’s Farm. A card purchased in the store cannot be linked to us.

What happens if I lose my card?
Just like most any gift card or gift certificate, if you lose your card you lose the value. Protect your card and treat it as you would cash.
What if my gift card won't scan?
Ask the cashier to manually enter the gift card number. Do not recharge a card you are having problems with. When the card is at a zero balance, throw the card away and get a new card from us. Occasionally a card is demagnetized and cannot be recharged. Things that demagnetize gift cards: magnetic latch on purse or wallet, eel skin wallet or purse, money clip, cell phone, and anything with a speaker. This is rare but it does happen if a card has been used a lot. At times, the system may go down in the stores, but it is usually back up in a few minutes.
How much money can Francisco's Farm earn?
Kroger sends us a check for 4% of all recharges after the first $5,000.00 and there is no cap on how much we can earn.
How do you track what I spend?
Your Gift Card has a unique serial number that we record along with your name and contact information (in case you win the drawing). Each month we receive a statement from Kroger that shows all recharges by serial number. The Kroger Company doesn't have your name and contact information, and we receive no information about your purchases, only the total dollar amount of your recharges.

How do I know how much money is left on my card?
Your remaining card balance appears on each sales receipt. You can also visit gcbalance.com or call 1-800-822-6252. (This information also appears on the back of your card.)
How long are you going to do this?
We'll continue as long as Kroger offers the program. After each year's Festival we'll continue to track recharges and continue to hold an annual drawing for FarmBucks. From time to time we may add other drawings and additional prizes of equal or greater value.
Do I have to order my card by mail?
Several members of our Planning Committee have cards and you can purchase them in person. Email us for details.
