Gary Bachers (above) creates his work with Prismacolor wax pencil on a clear sheet of Duralar film. Layering intricately gives a paint-like effect and intense color to Bacher's mandala-like compositions. |

Amelia Stamps (left) says,
"I believe that crafting well made objects holds a deep meaning to those of us who speak through our hands. We rely on the material to translate an inner language.
I want my work to communicate a sensualness and hint that it was made by female hands. I concentrate on making the lines feel soft, the forms breathe a quiet strength and the surfaces interesting and contemplative." |

Paige Cox (above) makes art dolls, fiber sculptures, bugs, aliens?…she has heard it all. They are personalities in wool that are beautiful in the most unusual way. She uses a combination of wet and dry felting techniques to create a solid base while still having freedom of detail with the needle. We find them witty and refreshing. |

"Working deep in glass, creating pieces I feel have more depth and texture, intrigues me. I delight in working with molten glass, manipulating it into striking designs. For me, art is always about the experience, the surprise, the aha…never the destination… always the journey..."

Julia Weber (left) is a metalsmith working in silver and semi-precious stones. "My goal for each piece is to create a wearable, treasured heirloom," she says. "Sometimes I feel as if I am painting with stone, combining colors and textures and framing them within swirls and flows of sterling. My goal is to be true to the stone, to craft only to enhance it's beauty, to allow the gem to express it's true nature." |

Dacelle Peckler -Danville, KY |
For over 20 years, Dacelle Peckler (left) has been salvaging bailing wire to keep it out of our landfills. A practicing large animal veterinarian, she uses her knowledge of horse anatomy, a pair of leather gloves, and pliers to twist and wrap the wire into sculptures from shelf-size to life-size. |

Kim Mcclelland (right) creates what is traditionally known as scrimshaw - one of a kind engraving plates on fossil ivories and hand pulled/inked resin plates of original engravings. He works with steel scribes to do the engravings, then rubs ink into the cuts and wipes it away. The resin plates are cast from the un-inked original and then finished and inked in the same fashion as a one of a kind fossil plate. |

Phil Gerrow - Midway, KY
Emerging Artist
|
Phil Gerrow (left) builds his tables of old wood lovingly reclaimed in his ongoing effort to save early Kentucky architecture - houses and barns erected before 1850, and some as early as 1792. This wood was long ago logged from virgin Kentucky forests, and originally used mostly for structural purposes such as floor joists, beams and rafters. |

Allen Quandee (above) says, "My goal is to produce art in simple, classic shapes whether it be
polychromatic segmented or pieces pierced with intricate patterns. They
are a synthesis of pottery and glass, using the simple, classic shapes of
Oriental, European and Native American forms." |
